Welcome to the College Health Info podcast series—“The Economy and its affects on College Health.

Our first installment in the series, “Getting Through Tough Times” explores how the economic downturn is forcing many college health leaders to make difficult decisions in the face of shrinking resources. While there are no easy solutions, the rigorous application of a structured approach to decision making can help identify the best options. Key components of this process will be discussed using concrete examples from real-life situations.

Dr. Manchester is the Director of the University Health Service and an Associate Professor of Medicine in the School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Rochester. He’s served as President of the American College Health Association, is on the editorial board of the Journal of American College Health, and has been elected to fellowship in ACHA and the AmericanCollege of Physicians; he’s an author or co-author of over 20 articles in peer-reviewed publications. In 2006 ACHA presented him with the Edward Hitchcock Award for outstanding contributions to the field of college health.
