About Us
CHI founder Joe Snowden spent a lot of time working with local, regional, and national college health professionals in his capacity as a director of business development in the college health marketplace. While on the “front lines” with these professionals, he learned of an issue that was a constant frustration—a lack of easy, accessible, centralized information to help ease day-to-day challenges. The answers were already there, but getting at that information was difficult and time-consuming. What was needed was an efficient, effective way to find the information—fast.
Joe realized that a central College Health Information community—organized for quick access and carefully monitored to keep the information reliable and trustworthy—was the key. So, he launched College Health Info to fill the gap. Because it’s funded by organizations connected to the field of college health, the information can be offered free of charge—no membership or access fees, just relevant, reliable information.
Our Values
It's not just what we do; it's how and why we do it. Here's what's important to us at CHI.
- Relationship–building is #1: Our focus is to enable long-term relationships among college health professionals–not replace them. We're interested in enhancing and enriching your peer group-and extending it from your local connections to ones across the country.
- Serving the college health community, not special interests: We limit the number of ads, carefully select advertisers and sponsors, then set very strict limits on their input. The information on CHI is based on YOU—you tell us what you need to know.
- Truly FREE, easy access: We really want to make sure that everyone who needs info can get it, free of charge-that's why you don't have to be a paying member to get the info you need. Yes, you can decide to support the community forum through an enhanced membership, but you don't have to.
“I’ve never worked with a better group of people in my entire professional life. I saw a need, and I wanted to help the people I enjoyed working with the most. That’s when I started putting together the framework for this community.”
